Lunation: New Moon in Gemini 6.17 (Exclusive Horoscopes)

Welcome! Thank you for joining me for a closer look at the lunar cycles. Rising sign horoscopes can be found at the end, but first–

What is a New Moon? A New Moon is when our two luminaries, the Sun and the Moon, are in the same sign, at the same degree, on the same page. The New Moon begins a cycle of creation as the Moon is dark and allows for possibility. The sky opens up for our intentions and may bring in tools for a little beginner's luck. Every month, we have a New Moon kicking off a two week cycle where we may be presented something new or we may be the active creators ourselves. It will also, simultaneously create a 6 month cycle that, again, will feel the most potent at the time of the New Moon, but will then continue working in our lives in the background until we reach its Full Moon counterpart in the opposing season.

Sometimes a New Moon theme is obvious– say you are moving to a new city around a New Moon, this is your New Moon story. Sometimes the themes aren't obvious at all because you are given some kind of creative control or you simply have to know where to look for the new beginnings available to you.

This is the purpose that I am hoping these horoscopes will serve– a direction, guidance, and affirmation that you are aligned in your path. And, of course, I hope these are entertaining for you as well. I invite you all to utilize the comment section at the bottom to ask questions about things that are confusing or to share your thoughts about accuracy.

The New Moon in Gemini perfects on June 17th at 11:38pm CST. The Sun and the Moon are conjoined at 26º of Gemini creating a New Moon.

The Major Aspects:

• Mercury at 11º Gemini sextile Venus at 11º Leo (0º orb, separating)

• Sun-Moon at 26º Gemini square Neptune at 27º Pisces (1º orb)

• Mercury at 11º Gemini square Saturn at 7º Pisces (4º orb, separating)

• Venus at 11º Leo conjunct Mars at 16º Leo (5º orb)

• Venus at 11º Leo square Jupiter at 6º Taurus (5º orb, separating)

Additional Chart Features:

• Pluto has just re-entered Capricorn and is in retrograde motion

• The Luminaries (the Sun and Moon) answer to Mercury in its domicile

• Venus is just 1º away from its retrograde station degree

Collective energies:

Gemini is known as the sign of The Twins, just as the Sun and the Moon are often referred to as the twins, Artemis and Apollo, the greek Moon goddess and Sun god. Every year on our New Moon in Gemini, the Sun and the Moon are siblings reunited, standing in for the pillars we see in the Gemini glyph: ♊

Gemini rules the duplicitous nature of the mind, its themes often closely follow that of a sibling dynamic– the intricacies of sibling rivalry, two ideas that cannot co-exist at once, conditions that only someone who has been inside your mind can truly understand. If you have a sibling, especially one close in age, you know about the playful, yet infuriating dynamic they bring. Even if you grew up in the same household, your experiences are not the same. This is very much the energy of this New Moon, especially as it closely squares the planet Neptune.

I relate Neptune back to family dynamics because this is the birth place of projection, a key Neptunian theme. The planet Neptune and its home sign Pisces, are more similar to Gemini, and its ruling planet Mercury, than either want to admit. Their differences are obvious of course, Neptune and Pisces create the fog, while Mercury and Gemini are the ones driving through it, searching for the clarity of the road. Neptune doesn't promise clarity, but it does promise truth– your truth, a truth that can differ from another's truth. Neptune is the idea that sometimes there isn't a clear, hard fact for something, like the truth that emerges from a personal experience. This is why Neptune can be associated with spirituality and astrology, the stars reflect (another Neptunian theme) and validate internal experiences that we can't see just as it does the external ones that we do see.

Gemini and Mercury (its ruler) seek truth too– but they are looking for it in books, in measurable data, Gemini unlike Neptune, does want clarity. It wants to know for certain, so it explores all the ideas until they can become rigid in one. This is why people with Gemini heavy charts often meet their lessons and karma in situations that have no "right" answer or with people who flip sides when it suits them. During this New Moon, ask yourself: Where am I searching for clarity where I should be searching for my truth? Do I need to feel right to be successful? Is there only one option here? Or am I too focused on the right option to notice the possibilities available to me?

To truly harness Gemini energy, we have to understand that there can be two truths at once and that is perfectly acceptable. Maybe you are not right and they are not wrong, but maybe "right" and "wrong" aren't the only options. This is important because we have access to crazy amounts of creativity at this time (and over the next 6 months) in the Pisces and Gemini sector of our charts, but looking for the absolute right answer or decision will block you from creation and possibility.

This is a time where we are all confused about something. We don't have all the facts or if we do, we don't quite know how we feel about it. Don't let the rapid thoughts stop you from living truth and exploring possibility. New perspectives are available to us now!

The Aspects:

The closest aspect we have in this chart is Mercury in Gemini sextile Venus in Leo. This is significant because of the direct aspect of course, but Mercury is the ruler of this New Moon and is strong in its domicile as well. Mercury is aspecting Venus in Leo who is just 1º away from its station degree where it will retrograde beginning from July 22nd to September 3rd. This means that we will be revisiting the themes showing up now during that time period– so pay extra attention.

Mainly, this aspect is great for communicating matters of the heart, I would say it also provides opportunities for commerce and business. Venus in Leo loves the spotlight and Mercury writes the script for Leo to act out. Mercury is ultimately supporting Venus as her travel companion. He might be leading the way into the Venus retrograde themes with an active mind– Hermes is the one who brings Persephone to and from the underworld (and negotiated her seasonal release) after all. He's giving her the run down of what to expect, maybe a few resources to get her through.

While we're on the topic of Venus, she's making two other (wider) aspects. Venus is close to a conjunction with Mars and a square to Jupiter. Venus never quite catches up with Mars, but boy is he leaving a mess for her to clean up. Venus and Mars won't "kiss" (catch up to each other via conjunction) until they meet in Aquarius in February of 2024, but until then, Venus is chasing Mars.

Mars has been starting fights and causing tension and Venus has been coming in afterwards to clean it up a bit. The thing is, Venus looks like she's about to follow Mars before realizing she has to go back to take care of some things. Mars was trying to teach us about the intention behind the action or maybe about the function of fear and anger, but Venus who is about to station retrograde understands that it's deeper than that– it's a value issue. The events showing up around the New Moon will be a part of the retrograde story too.

Venus square Jupiter is asking us to be mindful of a few things– 1. Our standards (tying in with the Venus-Mars co-presence) and 2. "Too much"

This also deeply relates to the Venus retrograde in Leo. It's going to feel easier to lower your standards around this time simply because of worthiness issues or wanting to have fun, to feel free. This could mean taking an opportunity you know is beneath you just because you're not seeing any other opportunities, or! Maybe you don't know your true worth and value. There's a lesson about that in here.

Venus square Jupiter can also prompt us to over do something– giving too much energy, indulging too much, jumping in too soon, too fast. These are things you should be mindful of at this time.

Last thing before we get into to these rising sign horoscopes, I did already write about Mercury square Saturn and the Sun Square Neptune at the time of this lunation in my Astrology of June 2023 article, here is that excerpt:

Mercury-Saturn is really wanting us to be realistic about something. It can bring up disappointing information, but ultimately, it's better to know the truth than to be duped. We want to be sure that anything we are signing or agreeing to at this time is supportive of the long term. This is a bit challenging as Mercury is changeable and unpredictable at times. The weaker planet here is Saturn, so our brains will likely be top notch, but our ability to consider the consequences long term? This needs special attention around these days. My advice is to listen to your body, especially when making decisions. Just because something is clear or factual does not mean that it aligns with your personal truth. Clarity and truth are two different things– this is a theme for the New Moon coming up as well.
Mercury will be in Gemini for the New Moon where the Sun will square Neptune. I bring this up because we're still dealing with the Gemini-Pisces square like we did with Mercury-Saturn. Typically, Gemini transits are great for details and facts, but not this New Moon. It would be wiser to channel this energy into an elaborate fantasy as opposed to stone cold fact. Imagination can be put to good use. Gemini and Pisces agree on media consumption, but not on the logistics of it. Have fun, but don't expect a clear mind to make important decisions with. This aspect often feels like we can't see through the fog.

*Disclaimer: There are multiple ways that lunations can affect us (this is why the personal birth chart is important), take these as general themes arising in your life as I am not looking at each of your individual charts. Aries risings:

Hi, Aries! Happy New Moon. Let's breakdown this lunation. *Keep in mind that New Moon themes are most obvious for 2 weeks after and work more subconsciously for 6 months after. You are starting a new 6 month cycle!

The Astrology:

- The Sun, Moon, and Mercury are in Gemini in your 3rd house square Neptune and Saturn in your 12th house.

- Venus is in Leo in your 5th house and is sextile Mercury in Gemini in your 3rd house, close to a conjunction with Mars also in your 5th house, and is square to Jupiter in Taurus in your 2nd house.

Your Horoscope:

This New Moon, it's possible that you'll be gaining a new perspective on something. This lunation is in your 3rd house of mental processes, your local environment (this includes any place that you frequent within your own city), school and learning, communication, sales and marketing, siblings, cousins, and friends (especially those you see often), the news, and social media.

Whatever shows up, it's in conflict with Saturn and Neptune in your 12th house– this is where things are hidden from us, they feel foreign, we don't have very much control over situations that belong to the 12th house. This is also a house of spirituality, surrender, isolation, and it can represent people who are "hidden enemies" but also hidden angels. You could be having more internal, spiritual experiences that seem to defy logic at this time.

This is very much a dilemma between what is familiar and what is unknown. If you're traveling at this time, it's likely that you feel very out of your element. If you're moving, it's likely very far away. This certainly isn't "bad" though– the 3rd-12th house square can be discovering your new favorite bar (the 12th house represents substances and the 3rd is anything localized), learning a new language, cultivating a skill or creation in private, or it could be that you've just signed up for this subscription to gain a new perspective on your life (the 12th house is spirituality and the 3rd house rules online subscriptions). Whatever the case, you are dipping your toes into the unfamiliar and maybe this is just what you needed to step out of your own comfort zone.

Venus is just about to kick off her retrograde cycle in your 5th house of fun, excitement, romance, dating, children, and the inner child. The 5th house is also about the past. It's the things we really enjoyed as a child and the experiences found in childhood that shape our perspective of what's fun now, what's comforting now, what and who we're attracted to now. This retrograde is likely showing you what's fun and what isn't, who really "sees" you the way you want to be seen, and is helping you navigate any creative blocks (maybe ones you didn't even know you had!).

With Venus in this house sextile Mercury in the 3rd house, whatever you are learning and communicating, or physically visiting at this time is revealing more to you about this Venus retrograde story. Some of you could be starting therapy or gaining a new perspective about the past. With Venus square Jupiter in your 2nd house, it would be wise to be mindful of how much money you're spending and to make sure that any romantic or sexual connections are truly worth your time and energy. Same with any fun you're having– is it worth it? Is it worthy of you?

With the 12th house active, it may be more sustainable to enjoy your fun, your city, and any new knowledge by yourself as Saturn rejoices here. I would be mindful of who you're trusting at this time and that they are who they say they are! It never hurts to do a little bit of research.

Let me know how this New Moon goes for you!

Taurus Risings:

Hi, Taurus! Happy New Moon. Let's breakdown this lunation. *Keep in mind that New Moon themes are most obvious for 2 weeks after and work more subconsciously for 6 months after. You are starting a new 6 month cycle!

The Astrology:

- The Sun, Moon, and Mercury are in Gemini in your 2nd house square Neptune and Saturn in your 11th house.

- Venus is in Leo in your 4th house and is sextile Mercury in Gemini in your 2nd house, close to a conjunction with Mars also in your 4th house, and is square to Jupiter in Taurus in your 1st house.

Your Horoscope:

This New Moon, you are likely gaining a new perspective on your values. Remember that our values are very tied to what we elevate– meaning how do we see ourselves? What are our most prized possessions? What skills and talents do we have that are worthy of celebration? What do we eat and is this fuel reflecting our inherent value and worth? How are we making money and are we deserving of this and only this? Or is there more? With the Sun, Moon, and Mercury in your 2nd house square to the 11th house, you likely have some goals or plans for the future that feel like they are conflicting with what you currently have.

With the ruler of your 11th house in your 1st house for the next year, your goals likely have to do with your own self image, something that is extremely close to who you are at the core, or new personality traits that you're feeling out. For example, It could be that you have certain body goals, but how you treat your body isn't reflecting that right now (or it hasn't in the past). You could have certain financial goals, but you feel like you don't have the support or favor of the public at present. You may want to build a community of friends, but you aren't finding people who have the same values as you do. Overall the 2nd-11th house square is what you currently possess vs. the future of your circumstances. Consider that what you have now cannot be what you have in the future, especially once you begin to try different things. Is there a new perspective that you haven't been seeing? A different way to make money, a different meal plan, a new place or community that you haven't discovered yet?

Venus is just about to kick off her retrograde cycle in your 4th house of home, family, safety, physical residence, ancestors, and comfort. Having Leo on the 4th house likely means you either have a lot of family love and pride or at times, your family's pride can get in the way of their ability to see you. This retrograde cycle is about reassessing what feels comfortable to you and if family patterns are getting in the way of trying something new, being seen for who you are and not as an extension of your family (this is enmeshment– the inability to discover your individual needs and desires because of an over identification with caretaking or family). You might also be moving at this time (maybe even back home), adding a new addition to your family, or revisiting some past family issues to ultimately resolve them.

With Venus sextile Mercury in your 2nd house, it could be that resources to move are coming in, family values are likely to feel prominent at this time, or you maybe you're just enjoying some really lovely home cooking. With Venus close to Mars and square to Jupiter in your 1st house, I imagine that your home, your family, the past is really conflicting with who you have grown into and what your personal goals and values have become. Make sure to stay strong in these despite any pressure you may be feeling to regress back into the family shell.

If you do end up moving, I think you may start to see possibilities open up for you in a way you weren't able to find where you were before.

Let me know how this New Moon goes for you!

Gemini Risings:

Hi, Gemini! Happy New Moon. Let's breakdown this lunation. *Keep in mind that New Moon themes are most obvious for 2 weeks after and work more subconsciously for 6 months after. You are starting a new 6 month cycle!

The Astrology:

- The Sun, Moon, and Mercury are in Gemini in your 1st house square Neptune and Saturn in your 10th house.

- Venus is in Leo in your 3rd house and is sextile Mercury in Gemini in your 1st house, close to a conjunction with Mars also in your 3rd house, and is square to Jupiter in Taurus in your 12th house.

Your Horoscope:

This New Moon you are likely gaining a deeper perspective into who you are. The 1st house is truly all about you. With several planets transiting this house, you are really focused on your own personality, how you physically look and come across to others, your ability to assert yourself and your own wants and needs. As a Gemini rising, you are all about curiosity, clarity, factual information, you likely have ideas that conflict with each other that you are constantly trying to mediate.

Meanwhile, all of the planetary activity in your 1st house is squaring Saturn and Neptune in your 10th house– the place of your public identity. The 1st-10th house square is all about who you are as an individual versus who you are to the public. If you've ever wondered how you come across within your career, to your parents, to authority figures generally (Boss, government officials, etc), you would look to the 10th house and any planets there.

The 10th house in Pisces means that you are likely seen as someone who's very creative, spiritual, or even scatter brained. This isn't really who you are as an individual, but it might be how you present unknowingly. Many Gemini risings are extremely talented and creative but only because of your precision, your skill, your ability to explore all of the thoughts and angles. So, to the public, you may be a violinist or a photographer for example, but to the people in your personal life, you are an interpreter. You might see the symbols of music or the precision of camera lenses– it's this attention to detail and skill development that allows for others to see the creativity and the thought behind it.

The reason why I outlined this dynamic for you is a) to help you gain more insight into your chart set up and b) because this is what you're getting serious about at this time. Your career, authority, and general life direction is where you are trying to build a lasting structure, but this is needing you to develop a new level of self and identity in order to create a more serious image. You may be struggling with a decision at this time directly related to who you are, your identity, maybe even your career.

Venus is just about to kick off her retrograde cycle in your 3rd house of communication, mental perspective, local environment, learning and education, and siblings. These next few months, you may be relearning things, reassessing your own perception or ability to communicate. You're realizing that in order to be seen in a particular way, you may need to develop new skills, take a class, learn about the most effective way to communicate, or visit new places in your local or online environment in order to level up.

With Venus sextile Mercury in your 1st house, this is deeply contributing to your personal sense of self and identity. With Venus close to a conjunction to Mars and square to Jupiter in your 12th house, you may be feeling a bit foreign in this new skill, knowledge, or environment– but remember that life begins at the end of your comfort zone.

Let me know how this New Moon goes for you!

Cancer Risings:

Hi, Cancer! Happy New Moon. Let's breakdown this lunation. *Keep in mind that New Moon themes are most obvious for 2 weeks after and work more subconsciously for 6 months after. You are starting a new 6 month cycle!

The Astrology:

- The Sun, Moon, and Mercury are in Gemini in your 12th house square Neptune and Saturn in your 9th house.

- Venus is in Leo in your 2nd house and is sextile Mercury in Gemini in your 12th house, close to a conjunction with Mars also in your 2nd house, and is square to Jupiter in Taurus in your 11th house.

Your Horoscope:

This New Moon, you may seeing a new perspective on either a mental health issue that's been plaguing you for awhile, or something that you're generally afraid of. The good thing about many of your fears throughout your life is that it's all in your head– many of the things you worry about don't necessarily materialize (or if it's happened before it doesn't re-materialize), but the mind is also one of your biggest hurdles. Sometimes it's helpful to know that much of what you could be experiencing is just anxiety, but sometimes that can be invalidating. Your fears are real to you, which automatically makes them valid, but can you loosen your grip? Gain a new perspective so that the scary, doesn't seem so scary anymore? This is what I feel you will be doing at this time.

The Sun, Moon, and Mercury in your 12th house is in a square with Saturn and Neptune in your 9th house. The 9th-12th house square can be explained like this: When you travel, you are often met with new experiences, new perspectives, and different cultures outside of your own, but if the 12th house is the house of isolation, it can also mean that you feel alienated far away, maybe fears creep in when you're not familiar with where you are, or you have to give up your own sense of control because you have no agency in this foreign place. Whether you're traveling or not at this time, use the example given metaphorically. When we struggle, we either turn to the divine or we forsake it. Which will you choose? The 9th and 12th house are bonded over foreignness and surrender. This may be a time where you are learning more about your personal belief system and philosophy, getting very serious about these things and your own place in the world.

This could be a time where you learn something new or develop more of your personal (or even medical) philosophy that helps to provide you with a different perspective and more mental peace. Engaging with spirituality of any kind around this time might feel very comforting, but make sure to stay grounded as well– part of Saturn transiting your 9th house is about being serious and discerning with the beliefs you engage with and take on, as well as making sure you are being guided by the right mentors and teachers. The 9th house can also represent doctors and healers while the 12th house can be institutions and hospitals.

Venus is just about to kick off her retrograde cycle in your 2nd house of income, values, morals, hierarchy, and self esteem. This is creating even more emphasis on reassessing your personal belief systems. Value is the inherent worth or usefulness of something, while belief is the faith or acceptance that something is true. This is a time where you will be reassessing your own worth, the usefulness of the things and people in your life, what you have already accepted to be true and if you still align with that belief. You'll also be thinking about the ways in which you make money and if you are just settling or if you are deserving of more.

Venus will sextile Mercury in your 12th house showing us that there's some kind of fear that needs a new perspective around money or worthiness while Venus close to Mars and square Jupiter in your 11th house is asking you what you want for your future– do you want more? Do you believe the support is available to you to set a goal for more?

Let me know how this New Moon goes for you!

Leo Risings:

Hi, Leo! Happy New Moon. Let's breakdown this lunation. *Keep in mind that New Moon themes are most obvious for 2 weeks after and work more subconsciously for 6 months after. You are starting a new 6 month cycle!

The Astrology:

- The Sun, Moon, and Mercury are in Gemini in your 11th house square Neptune and Saturn in your 8th house.

- Venus is in Leo in your 1st house and is sextile Mercury in Gemini in your 11th house, close to a conjunction with Mars also in your 1st house, and is square to Jupiter in Taurus in your 10th house.

Your Horoscope:

This New Moon is all about your future goals and the community around you supporting and cheering you on. The 11th house is where we find the things we're extremely interested in and the people who are on this level with you, but it's also about planning the life you want.

Typically our interests are aligned with what we want for ourselves in the future. If you like speaking or writing for example, this might always be a part of your future in someway. The things that we like, are the things that we resonate with. And the things that we resonate with are often the things we can bond with others over. This is part of how we know we've found our friends.

You may be making new friends at this time, joining a new community, seeing your future through a different perspective either because of new people in your life, or maybe because of how other parts of your life are expanding and changing right now. The Sun, Moon, and Mercury in your 11th house is squaring Saturn and Neptune in your 8th house. The 8th-11th house square is the tension between other people's goals, finances, and values and our own wishes and goals for the future. Remember that tension and squares are not always a bad thing, sometimes they make things happen. Like in the case of meeting new people and adopting new mindsets and values because of that influence.

Right now you're getting really serious about any traumas or projections that you've picked up from others that are not your own, letting go of a lot of perceived necessity and embracing transformation. Sort through your own dreams and how any fears or projections from others are preventing you from those desires. You may be hesitant to invest in something right now (a friendship or a future project), don't let overthinking get to you, but major money especially moves aren't the most supported with the Sun square Neptune.

Venus is just about to kick off her retrograde cycle in your 1st house of self. Over the next several months you'll be reassessing who you are, who you want to be, what social pressures may be preventing you from being fully yourself. Do others truly see you? Are you showing up how you want to be seen? Venus is sextile to Mercury in your 11th house, so whatever insights that you become aware of regarding your future at this time will be important to the retrograde.

Venus is also close to Mars and square to Jupiter in your 10th house, so any promotions, new authority figures (bosses) in your life, or big life changes that you've been making lately will also shift your own identity in some way– make sure you aren't changing who you are for someone else's desires.

Let me know how this New Moon goes for you!

Virgo Risings:

Hi, Virgo! Happy New Moon. Let's breakdown this lunation. *Keep in mind that New Moon themes are most obvious for 2 weeks after and work more subconsciously for 6 months after. You are starting a new 6 month cycle!

The Astrology:

- The Sun, Moon, and Mercury are in Gemini in your 10th house square Neptune and Saturn in your 7th house.

- Venus is in Leo in your 12th house and is sextile Mercury in Gemini in your 10th house, close to a conjunction with Mars also in your 12th house, and is square to Jupiter in Taurus in your 9th house.

Your Horoscope:

This New Moon, you may be gaining a new perspective on your career goals, the public role you hold, or your general life direction. The 10th house is the realm of Big Life Stuff. It can be a big move of any kind– I wouldn't be surprised if you began some new venture at this time, especially connected to public writing or speaking, you might be up for a promotion (and it could be between you and another person), you might be thinking of moving somewhere, you might be thinking about your relationship status, or there may be new information or a perspective around where your life is headed at this time.

The planets in your 10th house are square to Saturn and Neptune in your 7th house. You're getting really serious about the people in your life right now (until early 2026) and that may mean that you're letting some people go, there could be people you are openly competing with (thinking about auditions, people who are up for the same promotions, etc.), people you are thinking of seriously settling down with, etc. Whatever new beginning you're facing within your career and life direction is going to mean different paths for your relationships. Maybe you do take a new promotion for example, but that leaves less time for your partner. Maybe you are moving, but you can't take your best friend with you. Or maybe, your relationships and partnerships are the cause for some of the changes you're making right now. Don't let over thinking stop you from doing what you love, but don't mistake red flags for purple either.

Meanwhile, Venus is just about to kick off her retrograde cycle in your 12th house of isolation, mental health, spirituality, and surrender. I know a lot of Virgo risings and the stories so far have varied! Some of you are dealing with this feeling of not being seen correctly (or at all), some are realizing that people they trusted did not have their well being in mind, some of you are checking in with your mental health and seeing different aspects that weren't apparent to you before, some of you are genuinely not getting enough rest. Protect your peace as much as possible.

With Venus sextile Mercury in the 10th house, whatever new life beginning you're starting at this time is directly related to your Venus retrograde story. Maybe it means certain relationships are starting or ending, maybe reassessments around your mental health are changing how you approach life (and decision making), perhaps you are traveling very far away soon, or something a bit unsettling is requiring a surrender.

Venus is also close to Mars and is square to Jupiter in your 9th house. If you have recently learned about a new belief system, religion, culture, etc. it may drastically change the way you approach rest, your need to be seen, how you make decisions, and more. You may also find that travel or a feeling of foreignness is also affecting your Venus retrograde story around the psyche and mental health. Out of the comfort zone and closer to where you're supposed to be, Virgo!

Let me know how this New Moon goes for you.

Libra Risings:

Hi, Libra! Happy New Moon. Let's breakdown this lunation. *Keep in mind that New Moon themes are most obvious for 2 weeks after and work more subconsciously for 6 months after. You are starting a new 6 month cycle!

The Astrology:

- The Sun, Moon, and Mercury are in Gemini in your 9th house square Neptune and Saturn in your 6th house.

- Venus is in Leo in your 11th house and is sextile Mercury in Gemini in your 9th house, close to a conjunction with Mars also in your 11th house, and is square to Jupiter in Taurus in your 8th house.

Your Horoscope:

This New Moon, you are likely gaining a new perspective on where you want to go. The 9th house is the realm of travel, foreign environments and cultures, teaching, higher and deeper learning, mentors, publishing, and your belief systems (politics, religion, etc.). You could be journeying somewhere new, but if travel isn't the focus, you are likely traveling in your mind. You may be changing your mind about rigid perspectives you had in the past, especially if you are experiencing something right now that is actively changing them. This may be a time where you are stepping into a teacher/mentor role, hiring a new therapist, doctor, or mentor of your own, or publishing something you've written.

The Sun, Moon, and Mercury are square to Saturn and Neptune in your 6th house of health and work. The 6th house-9th house square is one that often brings results. A health issue (6th house) may be cause to seek out a doctor (9th house), a tedious work project (6th house) leads to publishing and marketing (9th house), the boring mundane (6th house) may be cause for travel and adventurousness (9th house). You get the idea, but whatever new beginning this is, it may require more serious thought about your health, the work you do, reciprocity, stepping out of familiar territory. Saturn is asking you to be realistic about your everyday while the New Moon may help you explore new things to add to your daily routines.

Meanwhile, Venus is just about to kick off her retrograde cycle in your 11th house of the future, goals, aspirations, friendships and community, interests and hobbies. You are beginning to take stock of the goals you've already set for yourself, you may be thinking about how to reach the future you're desiring and if the community around you is supportive towards that future. Venus is helping you to reassess your own plans, but also who is in your social circle and if they really "see" you and what you're trying to do.

Venus is sextile to Mercury in your 9th house, so whatever you end up beginning in the 9th house realm of travel, learning, experiences, and beliefs, this will be a part of your Venus retrograde story. You might join a new community that changes everything, or maybe self discovery is leading you to a new future.

Venus is also close to Mars and is square to Jupiter in your 8th house of shared resources. The 8th-11th house square is the tension between other people's goals, finances, and values and our own wishes and goals for the future. It could be that you are looking for financial funding, or perhaps you are learning something from others right now that will ultimately change your future plans.

Let me know how this New Moon goes for you!

Scorpio Risings:

Hi, Scorpio! Happy New Moon. Let's breakdown this lunation. *Keep in mind that New Moon themes are most obvious for 2 weeks after and work more subconsciously for 6 months after. You are starting a new 6 month cycle!

The Astrology:

- The Sun, Moon, and Mercury are in Gemini in your 8th house square Neptune and Saturn in your 5th house.

- Venus is in Leo in your 10th house and is sextile Mercury in Gemini in your 8th house, close to a conjunction with Mars also in your 10th house, and is square to Jupiter in Taurus in your 7th house.

Your Horoscope:

This New Moon, you are gaining a new perspective that transforms you in some way. The 8th house is about our own inner workings, with Gemini here, it's intimacy of the mind, the thoughts and ideas you absorb from others. This is the house of loss too, it shows us what we have to lose in order to transform and level up. For you, it's your mindsets– if you want to change, it starts with your mindsets, quieting the voices in your head to figure out what you really think. Past "failures" might really feel like a hurdle to overcome right now.

The activity in your 8th house is square to Saturn and Neptune in your 5th house of the past, the inner child, children, your passions, art, performance, romance, sex, and entertainment. the 5th and 8th house square because we (and others) often invest (8th house) in art (5th house), or because children (5th house) are expensive (8th house), or maybe because our childhoods (5th house) are where we often experience the bulk of our trauma (8th house), or because we might gamble (5th house) our money away (8th house), or because art (5th house) is the intimate soul we usually hide away from others (8th house).

With Saturn in the 5th house over the next few years, you are being asked to get serious about your fun. Some of you will have to because of a pregnancy or a responsibility to a child, but others will need to assess what is truly fun to you and why. You may no longer see the fun in drinking your face off at a party, or in casual sex, or in consumerism. You might be more and more content with a quiet night at home, books, or your own creative abilities. You are honing any talents and passions you have (5th house) and sharing them with others (8th house). You may also be breaking away from others who are childish and who can't get to the intimacy level you are desiring. Whatever new beginning you're starting, it's intimate. You may invest in a creative project, hoping to gain support from others at this time. There may be an opportunity to be invested in as well. You just need to get out of your own way.

Meanwhile, Venus is just about to kick off her retrograde cycle in your 10th house of public image, career, life direction, parents, bosses and authority, the government, and status. You are reassessing how you want to be seen by the world, how you express yourself to the public, and any past struggles with authority, place, and status will come up now. Venus will sextile Mercury in your 8th house, so whatever new beginnings in the realm of investment and intimacy will directly correlate to your Venus retrograde story.

Venus is also close to Mars and will square Jupiter in Taurus in your 7th house. Any shifts in how you show up in the world and how you allow yourself to be seen will likely change your relationship sector. People who are not supportive of this image and life direction will step out of the way for those who will appreciate your light (believe me, there are plenty of them out there!) Don't let imposter syndrome get you down!

Sagittarius Risings:

Hi, Sagittarius! Happy New Moon. Let's breakdown this lunation. *Keep in mind that New Moon themes are most obvious for 2 weeks after and work more subconsciously for 6 months after. You are starting a new 6 month cycle!

The Astrology:

- The Sun, Moon, and Mercury are in Gemini in your 7th house square Neptune and Saturn in your 4th house.

- Venus is in Leo in your 9th house and is sextile Mercury in Gemini in your 7th house, close to a conjunction with Mars also in your 9th house, and is square to Jupiter in Taurus in your 7th house.

Your Horoscope:

This New Moon, you are gaining a new perspective on your relationships. The 7th house is any one-on-one relationship, from the one you have to your best friend, to a romantic partner, to ones in business, known enemies, or even the kinds of relationships you have to emotions, objects, and big ideas. The activity in your 7th house is square to Saturn and Neptune in your 4th house of home and family. This new perspective could have to do with your family dynamics, the physical place you live, or something within your history and past.

With Saturn in your 4th house, you're having to get really serious about your home and what you want it to look like long term, you could be taking care of older family members at this time, noticing family karma in real time, or feeling a bit restricted in this area. The 4th and 7th house square each other because we often learn many of our unhealthy relationship dynamics from our family, we develop attachment styles this way and therefore, how we relate to others in adulthood.

Relationships were changeable, unstable places for you in childhood, but you have a chance here to confront some of this inner instability that still has a home within you. This may help to begin a healthier relationship with someone (or others generally) at this time. It's very possible that you are having a deep conversation with someone in your family or getting real with a partner of some kind about the home or family you want to create. You may even feel confused about it all and that's okay!

Meanwhile, Venus is just about to kick off her retrograde cycle in your 9th house of mentors, learning, philosophy, belief systems, and travel. These next few months are times of reassessment in this area– you may be learning something new that expands your world and personality, traveling somewhere or meeting a mentor that has a profound impact on your belief systems. Whatever the case, with Venus sextile Mercury in your 7th house, Venus retrograde themes are supported by this New Moon. This gives big family therapy vibes, couples therapy, perhaps someone you're working with one-on-one from is from another culture or religion that teaches you about life. You may also be traveling with a partner at this time.

Venus is close to Mars and is square to Jupiter in Taurus in your 6th house of work, health, and daily duties. It's possible that you will need to make arrangements if you are traveling, or make room in your schedule for exploring. This is also representative of getting out of the familiar to explore a bit of the unknown. Be mindful of your health– you don't want to overdo something, but this can also support the "therapy vibes" from earlier as well. Overall, you're committed to mindfulness.

Capricorn Risings:

Hi, Capricorn! Happy New Moon. Let's breakdown this lunation. *Keep in mind that New Moon themes are most obvious for 2 weeks after and work more subconsciously for 6 months after. You are starting a new 6 month cycle!

The Astrology:

- The Sun, Moon, and Mercury are in Gemini in your 6th house square Neptune and Saturn in your 3rd house.

- Venus is in Leo in your 8th house and is sextile Mercury in Gemini in your 6th house, close to a conjunction with Mars also in your 8th house, and is square to Jupiter in Taurus in your 5th house.

Your Horoscope:

This New Moon, you are gaining a new perspective on what is truly healthy for you. The 6th house is about the boring daily rituals that create larger themes of success, financial prosperity, recognition, and is even the building blocks for a thriving relationship with yourself and others. For you, with Gemini on the 6th, all of those larger ambitions start with your mental state. It is so much less about what you do physically and more about what those physical things create in your mind. If you're exercising for example, it's more about the mindfulness or skill throughout the exercise that truly leaves an impact. If you're trying to build a career, it's the mind, the study, the research you put into your work that creates the most impact, even if this isn't what is seen or noticed by others.

The activity in your 6th house is square to Saturn and Neptune in your 3rd house. The 3rd house - 6th house square is the tension between our environments and our health. Maybe something within your local environment or the current information you have is preventing you from meeting certain goals. For example, the 3rd house can rule the city you live in– so maybe a local bar is the thing keeping you from physical and financial health, maybe it's social media (3H) that is keeping you in a cycle of unhealthy comparison (6H), maybe transportation (3H) is a huge obstacle for you and your daily routines and work (6H), maybe a class or new information (3H) is changing the way you approach your everyday (6H). You get the idea– this is a chance to change the way this goes for you over the next 6 months. Maybe you trade the local bar for the local gym, maybe you are being a bit more mindful about your social media intake and are intentionally replacing the time with an activity that furthers your growth.

Saturn, your chart ruler, is trying to help you get serious about your environments– the ones you create or intentionally go to, your ability to communicate, the way you think. You are rebuilding the way you process information and where your attention is focused. This is a vital part of this new chapter for you! Find a way to communicate any resentment that may be holding you back.

Meanwhile, Venus is just about to kick off her retrograde cycle in your 8th house of shared resources, shared environments, intimacy, inner psychology, and transformation. Whatever you are realizing is unhealthy at this time or the new habits you create in your life are directly affecting your Venus retrograde story with Mercury in your 6th house sextile Venus. You may be getting rid of some things and people, losing weight (if this is your goal), letting go of harmful beliefs with an egoic nature, or moving out of a shared space that isn't healthy for you. You will come out of this retrograde a new person if you fully allow release.

Venus is also close to Mars and square to Jupiter in your 5th house. You may want to be aware of anything you are doing for "fun" that once was harmless, but has become a hinderance to this transformation. The 5th house is causal sex, dating, gambling, childish behavior of any kind, so be mindful of lowering your standards for that sake of fun. Additionally, there may be some childhood memories that you are needing to recognize and are ultimately purging in order to become a new you.

Aquarius Risings:

Hi, Aquarius! Happy New Moon. Let's breakdown this lunation. *Keep in mind that New Moon themes are most obvious for 2 weeks after and work more subconsciously for 6 months after. You are starting a new 6 month cycle!

The Astrology:

- The Sun, Moon, and Mercury are in Gemini in your 5th house square Neptune and Saturn in your 2nd house.

- Venus is in Leo in your 7th house and is sextile Mercury in Gemini in your 5th house, close to a conjunction with Mars also in your 7th house, and is square to Jupiter in Taurus in your 4th house.

Your Horoscope:

This New Moon, you are gaining a new perspective on a creation of yours. The 5th house is all about childhood joy, the past and the nature of our childhood experiences, the moments that we felt the most creative in our lives. It can also be things like parties, dating, sex, romance, the actual creation of children. With Gemini on the 5th house, your creative potential comes from your genius mind. This time can of course, be one of beginning a new creative project– becoming pregnant, building or planning something that you are passionate about, or beginning to date someone new. Whatever the case, you are bound to have a lot of fun as long as you take the time to get out of your head too.

The activity in your 5th house is squaring Saturn and Neptune in your 2nd house of finances, self esteem, body, and hierarchy. Whatever you're beginning is likely a huge financial commitment or you are hoping that it will generate income. If that isn't the case, this new beginning is creating some self doubt or esteem issues. Saturn in your 2nd house is trying to help you get clear about your priorities and what you truly think you deserve and are capable of. Your creation is worthy of building, but you can't know the future for sure. Some faith in yourself and your plans is needed.

Meanwhile, Venus is just about to kick off her retrograde cycle in your 7th house of marriage, partnerships, and contracts. With Mercury in your 5th house sextile Venus, the thing you are creating is linked directly to your Venus retrograde story. If you are thinking of beginning a new business partnership or getting married between now and October, make sure that this is well thought out and that your partner truly sees you.

I'll never tell you what you should or shouldn't do, but it would be wise to think carefully about the person you are beginning this project with. If you've been in a relationship or partnership for awhile, this could simply symbolize the transformation that your relationship is going through. If you haven't known this person/people for long, maybe think twice before jumping into something. This is also not an ideal time to break up or get divorced suddenly, you may regret it unless you've thought deeply and for awhile about this.

Venus is also close to Mars and is square to Jupiter in Taurus in your 4th house of home, family, and ancestry. It is important to not let others pressure you into lowering your standards for the sake of impatience or to begin a relationship or partnership based on family pressures. It's very likely that you're expanding your home in some way (either through marriage, children, or moving), just make sure it's what you want and this isn't a spur of the moment thing.

Pisces Risings:

Hi, Pisces! Happy New Moon. Let's breakdown this lunation. *Keep in mind that New Moon themes are most obvious for 2 weeks after and work more subconsciously for 6 months after. You are starting a new 6 month cycle!

The Astrology:

- The Sun, Moon, and Mercury are in Gemini in your 4th house square Neptune and Saturn in your 1st house.

- Venus is in Leo in your 6th house and is sextile Mercury in Gemini in your 4th house, close to a conjunction with Mars also in your 6th house, and is square to Jupiter in Taurus in your 3rd house.

Your Horoscope:

This New Moon, you are gaining a new perspective on your home. It is possible that you are moving soon, working on or decorating the home, or beginning a new chapter within your family unit at this time. The 4th house is weird, it's the private, innermost parts of us that are touched and influenced by our ancestral patterns. You family is likely paradoxical in nature, apt to switch sides, change their minds, take the extreme opposite approach to the one you do. Don't worry, everyone experiences this somewhere in the chart.

All of the 4th house activity is square to Saturn and Neptune in your 1st house of self, autonomy, and identity. Something new happening in your home is creating tension with your own self assertion. Maybe this means moving somewhere that conflicts with what you knew about yourself already, leading to a more mature era for you. Maybe a family member is beginning their own new chapter and this means more separation between you and them or even, more responsibility on you. Saturn is trying to help you figure out who you are, independently. Part of this may mean leaving the nest, needing to set boundaries with your family, or changing what you do at home.

Meanwhile, Venus is just about to kick off her retrograde cycle in your 6th house of health, daily routines, work, and pets. With Mercury in your 4th house sextile Venus, this links your retrograde story directly to this new beginning in your home. It's possible that you are having to set boundaries with your family due to an unhealthy imbalance or dynamic. Maybe you are moving and your schedule or job is changing in a big way. Whatever the case, this Venus retrograde is about the inherent health of something and if there is resentment somewhere, it needs to be eliminated. Remember, even if you move, the problems will manifest in a different form. Make sure that your home is supportive of your personal health and rituals at this time and that you are truly seen for all that you do.

Venus is also close to Mars and square to Jupiter in the 3rd house. You're expanding your environment and exploring your city, the ways in which you communicate, the kinds of transportation available to you, learning and information, and more. Make sure that this exploration and any new environments are supporting your health and routines that matter to you– this is a part of this reassessment.

You could also learn something, take a new class, become certified in something, or come across new information that changes your daily routine, you health, or your work.
